In 1988, Al Hendrickson Sr. felt that he had the opportunity of a lifetime, to open a car dealership side by side with his son, Al Hendrickson Jr. When Al Hendrickson Toyota opened in September of 1989, Al Sr., along with son and partner Al Jr., in their first advertisement vowed to “reinvent the automobile business” and make their dealership one of the best in the country. Could this be possible? Could a seasoned automobile man and his young entrepreneur son bring an end to the loud plaid sports jacket, white patent leather shoe wearing shark type sales image to one that would be customer friendly? And to top it off, be able to make a go of a dealership in the height of a recession? The Hendrickson’s challenge along with a great team of associates made things happen. The fledgling dealership opened with a phenomenal first month and from there, has grown to be one of the largest and most well respected dealerships in the country. And, their vow has been kept. Most days you can find both the Hendricksons meeting their customers with a friendly handshake, a smile and ready to assist with any questions or concerns a customer might have. Al Hendrickson Toyota sits on 12.3 acres in Coconut Creek. Along with the retail sale of new Toyota vehicles, the dealership has a vast inventory of quality used vehicles. The Automotive Service Center of America services not only Toyotas, but all makes of vehicles with a very competitively priced service menu.
